Daxlore Breeding Policy
Although highly successful in the showring, Daxlore
Salukis are bred primarily as companion animals. They are known
worldwide for their good health and excellent temperament. It is fair to
say that most of those who own one Daxlore Saluki go on to
own more. Some have owned Daxlores continuously since the 1950s.
At Daxlore we are committed to maintaining
the Saluki bloodlines and type established by Eileen Skelton-Fortune.
Our aim is to breed Salukis healthy in mind and body, with good health
and temperaments, sound conformation and movement.
| A litter is normally bred only every two years, and
only for the purpose of perpetuating the bloodlines. There is
usually a waiting list for puppies and prospective owners are
advised to add their names to it. Our priority is to place puppies
in permanent, loving homes where they live as family, and to
retain contact with them and their owners throughout their lives.
For this reason in 1999 we introduced Daxlore Day -
an annual get together where owners and their hounds joing us at
home for a day of food, fun and photos. |
